DEMO - Reclaim the night

The only NUS National Demo happening this year is Reclaim the Night NORTH!!! Keep Saturday 1st March 08 free and start thinking about how you're going to transport your students over to Manchester for this important event.

The details for this Stop Violence Against Women National Demo are as follows:

Banner Making - All day at the University fo Manchester Union (Sackville Street)
Demo - Women Only (including trans women) congregate at 6pm, Sackville Street
Demo - For men and friends (open gender) who want to end violence against women will also congregate at 6pm, Sackville Street, but will march on a seperate route
Mixed Rally - For everyone from 7.30pm, back at the University of Manchester Students' Union.

Why? Because 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence, less than 6% of all reported rapes end in conviction, because all women - mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, women friends and grannies - deserve to live without the fear or reality of abuse, rape and violence!

DCSU RESPONSE

If you are interested in attending this event via the union please get in touch with Arleta or Sophia before Friday 15th Feb as we will need to book transport.
